Day 23 of #40to40 is about #PRIORITIES
Yesterday we broke down preparation for the quantitative #negotiation by identifying resistance points. But what about the qualitative issues you need to discuss?
For example, in a #salary negotiation you need to know your qualitative resistancepoint–the minimum amount of money you’d accept– but what about the other issues? Vacation days, flex time, healthcare, and more are all important but which are more important than others? Make sure you understand your priorities to ensure that you are allocating your energy and time accordingly. Do you really want to die on your sword for the office supplies you get access to or is the ability to work from home more important?
Spend some time also considering their priorities so that you’re prepared for the conversation.
This another one I encourage to think about when negotiating with your #kids!
