Day 29 of #40to40 is time to talk about TIME PRESSURE!

#Time is used as a tactic to put pressure on you to make less rational decisions. It drains your battery of power and makes you feel like you have to do something quickly when you hear things like “limited time offer” or “this deal expires when you leave.” Before you do something you’re going to regret press your mental #Pause button and consider “is this a legitimate circumstance? What’s going to happen if I let this deadline lapse?” Often there are no consequences and you can go back later to continue the conversation with sound mind.

Consider how you can use time pressure to your advantage in your #negotiation. #Parents often use ‘time-outs’ with their kids for a reason.
