Day 15 (oops) of #40to40 is about #CONDITIONS
Using 4 magic words in a #negotiation you can be perceived as cooperative instead of demanding AND build up their satisfaction. Conditional trading ensures you are taking care or your needs using some simple language:

If you can do this thing for me then I can do this thing for you. The order is important because it ensures they’re not tuning you out before they get what they want. And it makes sure that you finish with a gift to keep them satisfied. The other way around just sounds like a punishment: “but only if you do this thing for me.
Practice this language with #kids! I swear it works. “IF you eat all of your vegetables THEN you can go to the park.” They’ll feel like they’ve earned it and will be less likely to resist. It won’t solve every kid battle, but it can help!
